What kind of company would require female employees to sign an agreement promising not to sue them if she is raped by her co-workers? And what kind of person votes to protect the almighty corporation at the expense of the rape victim who has no recourse? It's disgusting, and they should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

I had wondered that myself. Is this a rampant problem for some companies??? If someone gave me a slip like that, I'd immediately LEAVE. There's something really fucked up about a company where men might rape you and you have to sign a clause that you wont sue them.

It seems to me that the Republican party often has no respect for women... Just in things they say and do. I'm wondering if its a conservative Christian idea based on the notion that women were put here by God to keep men entertained...

If a woman gets raped, it's her fault afterall... right? She had it coming....

as disgusting as this list is - i'm more interested in the companies that require their female employees to sign such a document.

Jen,

I'm with you. Not surprisingly, the company is KBR, an engineering and construction services subsidiary of Halliburton.

This vile incident begs the question, why did they implement a rape waiver in the first place? Had this happened with their employees in the past? Obviously, it was something they expected or anticipated? Why?

Mars Girl,

From what I understand, the rape clause in the employment contract the woman signed was amongst the "fine print" and nearly indetectable. I don't think she was even aware it was there.
