We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to give a collective "bird" to the asshole known as Christopher Columbus.
If you want to acknowledge Columbus Day, read this, and then observe a moment of silence for the horrific suffering, cruelty, and genocide inflicted upon indigenous peoples by Columbus and his cohorts.
Travel photos and accounts will resume shortly. Thank you for your understanding.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the city of Columbus in Ohio and I was wondering what they'd done to piss you off... ;)
Oh dear. No, no. The couple of times I've been to Columbus Ohio, I've enjoyed it immensely :)
Maybe the city in Ohio should reconsider its name. For obviously, it was named after dear Christopher.
There is actually a fringe here in Columbus that refuses to use the city's name because of the associations with colonization. They call it Arawak City.
Is Arawak a Native American name?
Yes, I believe the Arawaks are the native peoples of the Bahamas where Columbus initially landed. I think.
